Snorkeling at night sounds like something for experts. On this tour it isn’t. You wade in from the shore with a guide, the water stays under 4 feet deep, and a bright LED light pod lights up the bottom for the whole group. You spend your time looking down at a sea floor most people never see.

What’s different about snorkeling at night
Sand flats and seagrass look different after sunset. Crabs, small fish and other shallow-water animals that hide or blend in by day are easier to spot under the light. You may also find empty shells on the bottom, and those are yours to keep. Anything alive is looked at for a moment and put back. Sightings are a perk of the tour, not a guarantee.

About 60 minutes in the water, then 15 minutes of show and tell on the sand where your guide goes over what the group found.
