Night snorkeling FAQ

Questions before you book

Straight answers on cost, safety, kids, weather and cancellations. Still unsure? Text 941-782-9226.

How much does the tour cost?

Adults 12 and up are $60, ages 6 to 11 are $45, and ages 5 and under are free. The price is the same at every location.

How long is the tour?

75 minutes in total: about 60 minutes in the water, then 15 minutes of show and tell on the sand where your guide goes over what the group found.

What time does it start?

Tours depart nightly at 8:30 PM, weather permitting. Arrive 20 minutes early to gear up and hear the safety briefing.

How do I book?

Book at bestshellingtour.com, or text 941-782-9226 with your date, location and party size.

What do I need to bring?

Your swimsuit. Snorkel gear, aqua socks, a glow stick, a safety noodle, a whistle, a collection bag and a net are all included. Gear is provided for every guest, so you cannot bring your own mask or snorkel.

Do I need to be a strong swimmer?

No. The tour stays in water under 4 feet deep, you wade in from shore, and every guest wears a safety noodle, whistle and glow stick.

Is it safe for kids?

Yes. The water stays under 4 feet deep and every guest wears a safety noodle, whistle and glow stick. If a young child needs a break, guides walk them to a lit resting area on shore.

What about kids 5 and under?

They join free with a parent but must be booked ahead by text at 941-782-9226. They need to bring their own properly fitted life jacket and water shoes.

What will we see?

Possibly shells, crabs, seahorses and fish. Sightings are a perk of the tour, not a guarantee.

Do we get to keep the shells?

Empty shells are yours to keep. Anything alive is looked at for a moment and returned to the water.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Tours run rain or shine as long as conditions are safe. We only cancel before launch for heavy sustained rain, nearby lightning or unsafe high winds. If we cancel, we text you and you can choose a full refund, a reschedule or a raincheck.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancel 72 hours or more before your tour for a full refund. Between 72 and 24 hours before, the tour is non-refundable, but you can reschedule once or take a raincheck. Less than 24 hours before, and for late arrivals and no-shows, it is non-refundable with no rescheduling or rainchecks. Send cancellation requests by text or email; the time counts from when we receive them.

Where do we meet?

Sarasota: City Island Park, 1799 Ken Thompson Pkwy, at the roundabout. Siesta Key: 1460 Siesta Dr, in the Sarasota-side bridge parking lot. Anna Maria Island: next to the King Fish boat ramp, 752 Manatee Ave, Holmes Beach, FL 34217.
